In a highly competitive market, a drink is not sold by taste alone.

It is also sold — and often first — through visuals.

For canned drink brands (soft drinks, kombucha, beer, cider…), imagery is usually the first point of contact with the consumer: on a website, an online shop, social media, ads, or retail platforms.

And that first impression matters.

I’m Eva Roggenstein, a food and drink photographer and founder of SPO Studio Photo.

I help drink brands create clear, modern, and appetising visual content, designed to perform across all communication channels.

The specific challenge of canned drinks

Cans look great — but they are technically demanding to shoot.

Reflections, label readability, condensation, textures, and colors all need to be perfectly controlled.

One small detail can make the difference between a premium-looking image and a visual that falls flat.

The goal is not just to create beautiful images, but to deliver a coherent content set with enough variety to cover:

  • website and e-commerce
  • social media
  • paid advertising
  • press and retailer platforms

A visual approach designed for drink brands

I recommend working with seasonal content sets.

Each set is designed as a small visual campaign, helping your brand stay consistent while refreshing its imagery throughout the year.

Each set can include:

  • Hero images for website, e-commerce, PR
  • Lifestyle scenes (aperitif, lunch, picnic, real-life moments)
  • Flavor cues: fruits, hops, herbs, botanicals
  • Short videos: can opening, pour shots, stop motion, serving ideas

These visual directions instantly create desire and help the viewer understand taste — without long explanations.

MARKETING CAMPAIGNS

Each campaign is designed as a complete visual kit, ready to support product launches, social media, e-commerce, and seasonal marketing activities.

INCLUDED IN EVERY PROJECT:
  • Creative direction and concept development
  • Custom moodboard and visual strategy
  • Full shoot production and professional post-production
  • Ready-to-use images for web, social media, and marketing
  • Usage rights for organic content

Content designed to be truly usable

A successful shoot starts with a smart and realistic shot list. One that ensures every image has a clear purpose.

DELIVRABLES : example of a seasonal content set

As an example, one seasonal set may include:

  • 12–18 retouched photos (hero, lifestyle, detail shots)
  • 3–5 short vertical videos (6–12 seconds each)
  • 5–8 story cut-downs
  • optional: 1 stop motion video

Each project is adapted to your brand, your flavors, and your distribution channels.

Typical shots for a canned drink set:

  • clean hero shot on a colored background (front + 45° angle)
  • cold can with visible condensation
  • crack-open moment (strong sensory feel)
  • pour into a glass with ice or a simple garnish
  • ingredient flat lay
  • pack shot to present the full range

The result: visuals that are ready to use everywhere, without compromise.

Short video formats that work for ads and social media

Video is now essential for drink brands, especially for advertising and digital campaigns.

I create short, efficient, and easy-to-watch formats, even without sound.

Common formats include:

  • 3-step micro story: grab → open → pour
  • texture close-ups: bubbles, foam, fizz, condensation
  • simple stop motion animations
  • quick serving suggestions (1 garnish, 1 glass, done)

These videos are designed to loop naturally and capture attention within the first seconds.

INVESTMENT AND PROJECT COST

Each project is fully customized, and the cost depends on several factors: objectives, complexity, validation stages, and expected deliverables. After the initial creative consultation, I prepare a tailor-made proposal based on your needs.

All projects include usage rights for organic marketing, and extended rights can be added for advertising, print, and packaging.

I also offer preferential rates for brands that collaborate with me on multiple campaigns or throughout the year.

A SIMPLE, SMOOTH, AND STRUCTURED PROCESS

I handle the creative direction and organization to save you time.

You stay involved at key moments, without unnecessary workload.

1. Discovery Call

The first step is a call during which we will discuss your project in detail and clarify your needs.

2. Project Discussion & Alignment

During this call, we will go through the specifics of your project, and I will answer any questions you may have about my way of working and our collaboration.

3. Quotation & Validation

Once I have all the necessary information, I will prepare a project quotation. After budget approval, I will send you the contract along with the deposit invoice.

4. Creative Direction & Shoot Preparation

After the contract is signed and the deposit is received, I will create the moodboard and the shot list. These will be shared with you for approval, and you will be able to request adjustments if needed.

5. Shoot Production & Post-Production

Once the shot list is approved, I will proceed with the shoot. I will then select the images and handle editing, retouching, and video editing. You may be involved in validation steps throughout the process (when applicable).

6. Final Delivery

Preview images will be shared via a secure online gallery. After final validation and payment of the balance, the high-resolution files will be available for download through the online gallery.
